Executive Director of the Nuclear Technologies Cluster of Skolkovo Foundation, Igor Karavaev, made a 3-day visit to Taiwan. The main purpose of the trip was to establish business contacts with local key world-class stakeholders (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company TSMC, AU Optronics, Macronix) for further acceleration of our start-ups and involving them as partners of Skolkovo; with technological SME companies interested in entering the Russian market; research centers (Industrial Technology Research Institute, National Tsing Hua University), that work with institutes of Russian Academy of Science; as well as with the management of the largest Science Parks, in the perspective of mutual cooperation and mutual startups’ exchange.
Mr. Karavaev held meetings with the management of these three SPs: Southern Taiwan Science Park, Central Taiwan Science Park, Hsinchu Science Park. These science parks are the largest and most important for Nuclear Technologies Cluster (industrial, semiconductor and laser technologies).
Also within these Science Parks there are production facilities of R&D center of the TSMC, AU Optronics, Macronix companies. Moreover, there was a number of meetings with SME companies (Tongtai machine Tool, Contrel Technology Company, LK Machinery Corp), which are the potential business partners for startups of Skolkovo’s Nuclear Cluster.
As a result, the parties have agreed to notify the companies of abovementioned Science Parks about the possibility to enter the Russian market through Skolkovo, and also to build R&D partnerships in Skolkovo. Additionally, they agreed to explore the specific requests for technology addressed to our startups with R&D departments.
