The Russian Startup Tour commenced in Rostov-on-Don with over 400 participants. The purpose of the Russian Startup Tour, which started for the third time in 2015, is to search for the most promising innovative solutions highly demanded at the hi-tech markets, and providing assistance to the local young entrepreneurs in developing their commercialization strategy.
The biggest Russian innovations roadshow is aimed at creation of the startup communities in the Russia’s regions, consisting of young talented scientists and developers, entrepreneurs, investors, technopark representatives, leading regional universities and science institutes.
At the opening of the RST in Rostov-on-Don Victor Vekselberg, President of Skolkovo Foundation, said: “One of the key Russia’s strengths is the intellectual potential of its people. But there is no system, which would allow talented engineers, scientists and entrepreneurs to find the possibility to realize their potential. Skolkovo has been created, firstly, as a non-commercial project, and, secondly, as a backbone project, which should create a comprehensive set of measures for implementation of your ideas. Startup Tour is a site where we would like to offer you the possibility to express your ideas and to present your projects.”
As in the previous years, the program of the event consists of educational and contest parts. The program of the first day includes workshops for young entrepreneurs. The second day is devoted to the contest of pitch-presentations of participating teams. Winners of the contests are invited to take part in the biggest startup conference in Russia – Startup Village, which will take place open-air in Skolkovo Innovation Center on 2-3 June 2015.
This year the Russian Startup Tour will take place for two days in ten domestic cities and in two foreign ones: Almaty in Kazakhstan and Minsk in Belarus.
