Deadline for Submission – Monday, September 10, 2012

The Skolkovo Fund and MATIMOP announce joint call for market-oriented R&D projects between Israeli and Russian start-up companies in various technological fields, with special emphasis on:  

Information technologies:

  • Navigation technologies
  • Video and data content delivery
  • Smart home technologies

Biotechnology and medicine:

  • Cell Technologies and Regenerative Medicine
  • Personalized Medicine:  technologies, drugs  and devices for more effective cancer therapy
  • Innovative stents, endo- and intra-vascular,  intra-articular devices
  • Telemedicine technologies

Energy efficiency and non-conventional energy sources

  • Innovative Electric Energy Storage Systems
  • Systems for efficient electric power generation
  • New Fuel Cells technologies
  • Next generation LED-based lighting systems

Radiation technologies

  • Particle beams, Laser and Plasma technologies for medical and industrial applications
  • Diagnostic systems utilizing radiation and magnetic fields

 

BASIS FOR COLLABORATION

The Russian - Israeli Initiative for Innovative Research and Development is a bilateral framework providing active support for collaborative R&D between Russian and Israeli start-up companies, implemented by Skolkovo Foundation, and MATIMOP, on behalf of the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) in Israel within the framework of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the State of Israel on Cooperation in the Field of Industrial Research and Development, dated March 22, 2010.

 

Support

This framework will support projects of Innovative R&D aimed at the development of innovative products or technologies to be commercialized in the global market. Innovative R&D projects with substantial potential for market success may receive financial support in the form of conditional grants.

Each of the project participants will finance their costs from own funds, capital market or the applicable national, regional or international funding schemes and shall be subject to the provisions of the applicable laws, regulations and procedures with respect to assistance and funding of research and development provided by the government of that Partner.

 

Eligibility

Eligible projects will be based on alliances between companies from Israel and companies from Russia, by which technological knowledge is developed to the mutual benefit of businesses in Russia and Israel. The projects are not restricted by two countries. They will be open for participation of third parties. The joint projects will be selected for Pan European R&D Program EUREKA. 

 

Call Launch and Structure

The Call is launched on May 17, 2012. The call invites partners to present joint proposals for R&D projects and the first phase of the call will close on September 10, 2012. Projects starts are foreseen at the first quarter of 2013.

The submission and the approval procedures will be of two phases.

1. A short project outline using the Eureka form http://www.eurekanetwork.org  should be submitted by September 10 to Matimop and Skolkovo. The outlines will be screened and evaluated by the joint appraisal committee. Results will be notified to the companies at the latest November 1st, 2012.

2. Partners with approved outlines will be invited to submit their funding applications. Matimop and Skolkovo will provide the submission guidelines and timetable to the project partners.
