Within the working program the representatives of Technopark Skolkovo held various business meetings with Parque Tecnologico do Rio Management, the Brazilian Agency for Innovation FINEP, Brazilian Trade and Investment promotion agency ApexBrasil, Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service SEBRAE, Brazilian Bank BRB in Rio de Janeiro; with Inova Sorocaba Agency, Sorocaba Technopark and its residents, Sorocaba Incubator and its startups, Technopark TECNOPUC and representatives of the Sorocaba Administration in Sorocaba; and with The Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Technology – CIETEC in San Paolo.
During these meetings Technopark made a presentation on Skolkovo Foundation, its clusters, Softlanding program and IASP 2016 Moscow. As a result, a high interest was shown from the Brazilian side absolutely in all suggested ways of cooperation. Especially there are special fields which are of great importance for the Brazilian market such as energy technologies, biomed and benefits of Softlanding program for Brazilian startups.
In conclusion the Parties agreed to continue the cooperation, sign a MOU on the mutual projects and other activities. At the same time Technopark visits one of the greatest events in Brazil among the Brazilian and international investors - The Brazilian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association Annual Conference ABVCAP 2015 which took place in Rio on 7th and 8th of April.
It started as a small gathering of local industry members 15 years ago, now brings together every April the largest gathering of professionals active in Brazil´s private equity and venture capital industry with more than 500 delegates from Brazil and abroad. The conference´s growth is a direct reflection of the industry´s expansion and the Association itself, which saw its membership base grow to more than 220 members in the past years. There are some vital issues being discussed within the conference agenda, for example, New Data from ABVCAP on Brazil´s PE&VC Industry; Fundraising Strategies in a global context; Venture Forum: Presentation of Innovative Brazilian Companies; Strategies for Successful Exits; Private Equity Regulatory Updates; The View from International Investors; Fundraising Masterclass etc.
After having several meetings at the Conference the Skolkovo Technopark is being made sure that there are Brazilian startups which are eager to join Skolkovo Softlanding program with an aim to enter the Russian market. Hope to see our Brazilian friends in Skolkovo, Moscow!
