Forty-one Skolkovo resident companies are taking part in Web Summit in Lisbon, the largest tech event in the world. The summit was founded in 2009 by three Irish tech entrepreneurs and this year’s event is attracting over 100,000 people from 150 countries, including 1250 investors, 800 speakers, 2000 journalists, and 2500 startups presenting their developments. The summit's key speakers include the president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, Zoom founder Eric Yuan, Facebook’s CTO Mike Schroepfer, Dr. Jane Goodall, Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, Hollywood director Ridley Scott, president of Xiaomi Xiang Wang, the Portuguese and Spanish prime ministers, Dropbox co-founder and CEO Drew Houston, Breaking Bad actors and Dos Hombres founders Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, and many more high-profile figures. The summit partners include well-known companies such as Huawei, Siemens, Accenture, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Cisco, CNBC, Google, KPMG, and Shell. The main themes this year are marketing and media, developers and data, society, commerce, lifestyle and business development.

Sergei Khodakov, the operations director of the Skolkovo Foundation IT cluster and who attended last year's summit, stated: "We expect that our participation in Web Summit will help create new business contacts and allow us to actively promote our residents' solutions on the world market."

The Skolkovo companies will be presenting their solutions to potential buyers, partners and investors. The solutions cover sectors such as marketing, retail, robotization of business processes, healthcare, finance, virtual reality, energy, video stream analytics, automated communication, information security, IoT, ed-tech, quantum technologies, and IT-infrastructure management.
