The Bahrain online business mission brought together innovative companies, large corporations, and Bahraini organizations, including Kanoo Group, the Bahrain Development SMEs Association, and Atyaf Technology Solutions. These companies and organizations cover fields such as IT security solutions, small and medium business, as well as oil & gas, logistics, shipping, travel, and numerous other sectors.

Among the representatives from the Bahraini side were the President of the Department of Innovations at Kanoo Group Bader Abdulaziz Kanoo and the Chairman of the Bahraini Small and Medium Business Society Abdulhasan Al Dairi.

Nine Skolkovo resident companies from the IT, biomedical, energy, and industrial technologies clusters took part in the mission, putting forward solutions in fields such as video analytics, HR, medical diagnostics, oil & gas, AI diagnostics, and automatic payments.

Arkady Dvorkovich, the chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation, stated that, “Bahrain is one of the most successful market entry points into the Middle East and Africa. The country has one of the best indicators in the region according to the Index of Economic Freedom and is the second in the Ease of Doing Business Index among Persian Gulf countries. Bahrain’s financial and services sectors are extremely developed and the country can rightly be called one of the financial capitals of the Middle East. Healthcare and energy are the main focal points of this business mission, which we selected together with our partners. These are two fast-growing economic sectors that are the most active in selecting and implementing innovations. This is the first business mission by the Skolkovo Foundation to this country and will serve as a basis for mutual cooperation and technological exchange. I wish our participants success!”

This business mission follows a string of such missions to other countries throughout the spring, summer and autumn where Skolkovo resident companies pitched their solutions (healthcare, fintech, logistics, energy efficiency, digitalization) to investors and companies in Hong Kong, China, South Korea, India, France, Germany, Indonesia, Qatar, Vietnam. The Bahrain business mission has led to approximately 90 individual meetings with corporations and investors.
