On June 20-22 Skolkovo Foundation participated in the St. Petersburg Economic Forum – the countries premier event on economic affairs. The 2013 forum became memorable to all participants for its large-scale deals with a total volume of 9.6 trillion rubles. Skolkovo Foundation likewise contributed to the list of initiatives, having signed 5 major agreements with members of the Russian innovation sector.

“Accenture” will be creating a commercial web service for predictive analytics at Skolkovo. The Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russia Federation and the Foundation will be hosting the 5th competition for information and mobile technologies during “Web Ready 2013”. With the participation of Skolkovo, “Intel” and “Kamaz” will create an information-entertainment system for automobiles. Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technologies signed two agreements with SURFnet, one of the leading R&D networks in the world, establishing a fund that will conduct state of the art research at Skoltech, and another agreement with the St. Petersburg State University.

According to the majority of visitors, Skolkovo Foundation’s stand was one of the brightest and most spectacular ones at the SPIEF 2013. Electric cars, new medicines and medical equipment, technology to increase oil recovery, developed and implemented with the support of Skolkovo, have once again confirmed that Russian innovative development is on the right path.

As the head of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation Sergey Ivanov said: “On behalf of the Kremlin and the government of the Russian Federation let me assure you that Skolkovo is here to stay, it is our strategic route and there can be no changes to this.”
