We are glad to announce that the Executive Committee of Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS) has awarded the FEBS Congress for 2013 to the Russian Biochemical Society, President Professor Alexandre Gabibov. It will be located in St. Petersburg, July 6th – 11th 2013 under the Congress Presidency of Professor Vladimir Skulachev with Professor Sir Richard Roberts, Nobel Laureate as Chairman of the International Advisory Board. Skolkovo Foundation and it’s BIOMED Cluster are named as a General Co- organizer The FEBS Executive Committee has now approved the list of Distinguished Plenary Lecturers, proposed by the Advisory Board. We are glad to inform you that nine Nobel Laureates confirmed their participation as Plenary lecturers on this Congress. It is our special privilege to announce these distinguished delegates of FEBS 2013: Jules Hoffmann, Aaron Ciechanover, Kurt Wutrich, Jack Szostak, John Walker, Ada Yonath, Roger Kornberg, Richard Roberts, Jean-Marie Lehn.
The Congress Theme is “Mechanisms in Biology” and we are seeking to build a powerful programme of strong character to support this key theme. Symposia presently under consideration include: Immunology, RNA, Carbohydrate Biochemistry, Proteolysis, Bacteriology, Bioinformatics, & Techniques of Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular biology of diseases. Scientific program will include 37 symposia. Totally more than 300 speakers will be invited. A young forum program will cover different fields of modern biochemistry. More than 1000 thousand young participants will take part on the Congress. Totally 3.500 -4000 participants are expected. Ministry of Science and Education, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Industry and trade of Russia expressed special interest to this event. We are delighted to invite scientists and students, representatives of BioPharma to participate in this important event. A huge exhibition of new biotech and scientific equipment will be developed during the Congress. The Congress will be in LenEXPO.
