Two open lectures will be held on 24–27 October with the support of the Open University Skolkovo as part of the visit to Russia by Don Zagier, the well known Professor at the Collège de France and Director the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics.
The first lecture by Don Zagier, in English, on the subject “From number theory to black holes”, will take place on 24 October. It will be devoted to the relationship between true and false functions in number theory. A discussion of the development of Moscow mathematics and mathematical education is planned. Young Master’s students, post-graduate students and anyone else interested will be able to have their say on this subject.
