Questions:

  • Design 5:0. Who sets design trends in the global and local markets?
  • Which design style can Russia internationalize and will it be recognizable? What can we use as the image of this country in the next generation?
  • Industrial design ecosystem – how enabling design climate can be created. Why does generation Z in design need government development institutes? How can the gap between industrial designers and the real industry be bridged?
  • Design and government customer – effective interaction models.
  • Media infrastructure of industrial design – how professional communities, organizations, forums, and shows work as the industry promotion tool

Invited speakers include:

  • Enzo Fornaro, Ambassador of ADI  Design Foundation for the Russian Federation and the Baltic CountriesGleb Vizel, industrial designer, Head of Wiesel Design
  • Vitaly Stavitsky, President of the Russia Designers Association, member of the National Design Academy, member of the Expert Engineering and Industrial Design Council, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation

During the case session, five Skolkovo residents will:

  • present their developments in healthcare, transport, electronics
  • tell about the principal phases of development and implementation, what allowed them to achieve the result, where the first money and customers came from, and the role of design in success
  • familiarize with their works at the Success Stories Exhibition

Speakers and cases:

  • Mikhail Dokuchaev, Chief Designer at Watts Battery (Energy Cluster resident). Case: personal power plant
  • Denis Saitgareev, industrial designer, Chief Designer at HoverSurf (Space Cluster resident). Case: flying motorcycle
